Arkansas Association of Energy Engineers Scholarship 

The Arkansas Association of Energy Engineers’ mission is to promote the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry to foster action for energy efficient development. To that end, the association is offering two scholarships of $500 each to Arkansas students interested in energy efficiency and sustainable development.  One of the scholarships will prefer students majoring in engineering or energy related field, while the second is open to students of all majors.   

 

Requirements & Eligibility  

The scholarship is open to high school seniors graduating in the current year and planning to attend an institute of higher education the following fall semester and current college students alike.

  • Must be a resident of the state of Arkansas.  
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours at a US college or university.
  • Provide unofficial academic transcript from high school or current university.
  • 2 Letters of recommendation: 
    • 1 letter of recommendation from an academic reference (teacher, instructor, academic advisor)
    • 1 letter of recommendation from a personal reference (Including but not limited to mentor, employer, extracurricular group leader. May not be peer, friend, or family member) 
  • Complete the scholarship application form.
  • Complete the essay prompt: Describe the importance of energy efficiency in your field of study or future industry.
    • Optional video for a basic explanation of 'energy efficiency'.
    • Essay format requirements:
      • 300 words
      • 11 or 12 pt font
      • Double spaced
      • PDF  format

 

Due Date & Award Dates

The application due date has passed.

Applications are due no later than 11:59 PM, June 16, 2023. All applications are to be submitted through the online Scholarship Application Form. All documents submitted should be in .PDF format. If you have questions or difficulty completing this form please email [email protected].

Applications will be reviewed during our chapter's summer working session. Scholarship winners will be notified by email no later than 7/31/2023. Proof of enrollment, and student ID number may be required to facilitate award payment.

A formal presentation of awards will take place at the August chapter meeting in Little Rock, AR. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to attend.
